Jose Mourinho tells Manchester United star you need ‘a good game’

Manchester United fans will hope that Jose Mourinho is slowly but surely shaking this squad into life.

But there are still a lot of players who aren’t reaching their potential.

One star who is yet to settle and give a performance commensurate with his talent is Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenian had a shocker against Manchester City in September and has seldom been seen in the first team since.

After making a few cameos of late he was left out of the Manchester United squad completely against Arsenal last the weekend, but Jose Mourinho has moved to reassure the 27-year-old about his future while also dangling a carrot in front of the nose of the ex-Borussia Dortmund man.

Jose told ManUtd.com:

“Yes. I told him today [Saturday] that he is going to be involved in the game against Feyenoord. He is trying. Obviously he is not happy but he is transforming his frustration in a good way, which is to close the mouth, work hard and try to adapt.

“I told him ‘this was not the game for you’ because I don’t think he needs 10 or 20 minutes from the bench. I said ‘I think you need a good game and you need to either start or, if not, to come for the second half’. He needs less pressure and better conditions for him to express his qualities.”

Mkhitaryan has played 6 times for Manchester United so far but most of those were off the bench. TFF has a feeling that when he starts playing well United could at once start to click as a unit.

The pace and ball control of the player, when in top form, is a joy to behold and we still think that he is potentially the best number 10 at the club.

Let’s see his best moments for Manchester United so far. And there aren’t too many to pick from.
