Former Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior is back in management after his appointment as Paris FC boss. He has signed a two-year deal with the club from the French capital.
Paris FC finished in 11th place in the French top-flight table under former PSG star Antoine Kombouare, who Rosenior replaces as head coach.
A look at Rosenior’s early career so far
The 41-year-old made his name as a head coach first at his former club Hull City from 2022 until 2024, bringing stability to the Tigers, helping them to a seventh-place finish in the Championship, before leaving the club after the team exited the play-offs.
His next stop was French outfit Strasbourg in July 2024. His performance with the Ligue One club had him highlighted as an up-and-coming head coach.
Rosenior guided Strasbourg to a seventh-place finish, earning them Europa Conference League football, with the youngest starting line-up in European football.
An ill-fated move to Chelsea in January 2026
Rosenior’s impressive spell at Strasbourg earned him a lot of interest from elsewhere. In January 2026, the former Hull boss became Enzo Maresca’s successor at Premier League Chelsea, signing a five-and-a-half-year deal with the Blues.
Maresca left Chelsea after clashing with the club’s hierarchy. The club claims that the now-Manchester City boss had already been in discussions with the Citizens with a view to being Pep Guardiola’s replacement this summer.
Rosenior made a positive start by winning his first match in charge of the team from south west London. However, things went downhill from there for the head coach.

In fact, Chelsea lost Rosenior’s last five Premier League games in charge, while failing to score in any of the defeats. The woeful run led to his dismissal in April. He was in charge of the Blues for just 107 days.
Despite his disastrous spell as a Premier League boss, Rosenior is still highly-regarded in France for the superb job he did with Strasbourg. The 41-year-old will be looking to rebuild his reputation in Paris after his ill-fated spell at Stamford Bridge.
