Alberto Moreno Sevilla

Like Chelsea, Liverpool seem to have hit the ground running with regards summer transfers.

You may think that it’s extremely early in the transfer window to be worrying about the remaining time to do business. But recent stats imply that the teams who do their business early to fare better in The Premier League.

Not only does early business suggest that top targets are being acquired but it also gives the Liverpool and Chelsea time to assimilate their players with a full pre-season training – as full as can be expected after a World Cup anyway.

Liverpool have already signed with Rickie Lambert and yesterday announced the signature of Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen.

And reports late Thursday suggested that a fee has also been agreed for the services of with Alberto Moreno:. The Mirror said:

Liverpool ‘agree five-year deal with Alberto Moreno as Sevilla accept £17.9m offer’

With serious interest in Adam Lallana and Lazaar Markovitz also reportedly on the radar then it seems as if a lot of Liverpool’s transfer business will have been done really early.

Brendan Rodgers will sleep easy and enjoy the World Cup knowing that he can add one or two more players but that most of his work will be done.
