Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk could be set to end his association with the Reds this summer, as the Reds’ summer reshape continues at a steady pace. The veteran centre-back is being heavily linked with a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Van Dijk is a Liverpool stalwart

The 34-year-old has been a stalwart at the back for the men from Merseyside since joining the club in 2018 from Southampton, in what was a world-record fee for a defender of £75m.
His performances at the heart of the Liverpool defence played a key role in Jurgen Klopp’s successful spell, which saw the Reds win, amongst other trophies, the Premier League and the Champions League. The Dutchman was also pivotal in helping Liverpool to win the English top-flight title in Arne Slot’s first season in charge of the club.
He has also established himself as one of the best centre-backs to play in not just the Premier League, but also one of the best in the world.
Hasn’t ruled out a move to Galatasaray
Reports from the Turkish press suggest that the Dutchman hasn’t ruled out a move to Galatasaray, and that he has been impressed with the club’s stadium and atmosphere in his two visits this season.

Galatasaray have recently secured their fourth straight domestic title, having been ambitious in the transfer market in recent years, signing the likes of İlkay Gündoğan, Leroy Sane and Victor Osimhen.
Signing Van Dijk would be a major coup for the Turkish giants, even if the centre-back is in the twilight of his playing career.
The end of an era at Liverpool

This summer will already be the end of an era for Liverpool, with iconic Egyptian star Mohamed Salah being joined by combative Scottish full-back Andy Robertson in heading for the Anfield exit.
Both players played vital roles in establishing Liverpool as one of the best teams in the English game. The club already has a job on its hands to reshape its squad. Van Dijk leaving would be massive, and replacing the Dutchman mountain could be the hardest job of them all.
