7 goals in 8 games: Liverpool’s most likely January signing?

Liverpool have again been linked with a player who could augment their forward line over the next few months and he’s an exciting young talent to say the least.

Local media outlet, The Liverpool Echo writes:

Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi has been linked with Liverpool once more.

Reports in Italy had placed him in the Reds’ crosshair, supposedly, to help boost their attacking options.

The report does suggest that Liverpool could go for the player now or wait until this summer. But with not that much happening on the transfer front for Liverpool in January, according to the newspapers, perhaps this would be the most likely signing for the club in the winter window.

The Italy Under 21 international has played 18 times for the youth set up since his debut in 2014 and scored three goals in that time.

Just 22 years of age he has already been playing for four and a half seasons at Sassuolo, first in Serie B and then Serie A. And for one so young he’s got a remarkable scoring record with 56 goals in 142 club appearances.

Judging by the highlights footage we have to say he looks like he really has a natural eye for goal as well as a good all-around game.

Strong, quick and decent with the ball at his feet we could imagine him playing in various positions across the front line for Liverpool.

The 6ft tall Italian hasn’t played for his country at senior level yet but if his current form continues – he’s got seven goals in eight games this season – it was surely won’t be long before a call up comes.

Liverpool fans – could this be a player to improve the first team in the second half of the season or is he currently a squad player and one for the future?
