Liverpool have called to ‘offer’ £40,000-a-week player in January

Liverpool signed Spanish international Alberto Moreno from Sevilla in 2014 when Brendan Rodgers was in charge of the club.

The Spaniard has got the pace to support in the attack but defensively, he has been very poor for the Merseysiders, who are prepared to let him leave.

According to Marca, Liverpool have called Sevilla to ‘offer’ Moreno in the January transfer window. The 26-year-old left back will be out of contract next summer and the Spanish source have mentioned that Liverpool want to sell him in January to at least get some cash from his sale.

In the 2016-17 campaign, Jurgen Klopp opted to use James Milner, a natural midfielder, in the left back position and Moreno mainly warmed the bench.

However, last season, the speedy fullback started 12 out of the first 14 league games for the Reds. Unfortunately, in December, he suffered a major ankle injury and in his absence, Scottish left back Robertson cemented his place in the starting XI.

This season, so far, the £40,000-a-week player (The Express) has only managed to make three appearances (two starts) in all competitions for the five time European Champions and in all fairness, he needs to leave Anfield for regular first team football.

As per the provided Marca link, Moreno dreams of returning to Sevilla, who do not rule out signing him in the winter transfer window.
