Liverpool linked with Micah Richards

Liverpool have reportedly jumped to the front of the pack to sign Micah Richards.

The Reds are said to have moved ahead of the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle, as they look to sign the right back, according to The Express.

Liverpool eye cut-price deal for Micah Richards as Arsenal and Newcastle interest dwindles

Manchester City could be willing to allow the 26 year old defender to leave The Etihad as he hasn’t so far been central to the plans of their current manager. With interest from other teams said to be cooling Liverpool could land the player in a cut-price deal.

Richards has been at Manchester City since 2001 where he joined from Oldham Athletic. He has since made over 180 appearances in all competitions but has found his first team appearances limited over the past few seasons.

He may turn out to be a top signing for Liverpool because we think that, under the right tutelage, he can kick on again.

He’s got all the qualities required for a modern Premier League defender – power, pace and endurance. He also has nice feet. He’s just been unlucky to be part of a squad that has had so much and such swift investment.

Someone is going to get a bargain with Richards. I tell thee.
