Liverpool may move for Italian International – report

It seems as if some clubs just never learn!

It appears that Liverpool are finally preparing to wash their hands with Louis Suarez as the Chiellini straw has broken the camel’s back – The camel being Liverpool.

Reports suggest that Liverpool are in talks with Barcelona with a view to offloading the troubled genius in a mega deal.

However good a player he is, you can completely understand Liverpool saying enough is enough. Having been without him at the start of last season Liverpool would suffer the same fate if they held onto him this year, after The World Cup debacle.

But reports today suggest that no sooner will they get rid of Suarez than they could go for Mario Balotelli! The Metro says:

Liverpool could be set for a shock move for Arsenal target Mario Balotelli if Luis Suarez completes a switch to Barcelona, according to reports in Italy.

Tuttosport believe Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has pinpointed the AC Milan striker as the ideal candidate to replace Suarez, who looks increasingly likely to leave Anfield this summer following his latest biting scandal at the World Cup.

Balotelli may not be a biter but he’s a similarly explosive player who tends to be highly unpredictable.

A wonderful striker but do Liverpool want to buy another loose cannon after their recent troubles? Perhaps every team needs a bit of devilment and Balotelli would certainly provide that.

But it seems that Liverpool could be putting themselves in a similar predicament by signing the Italian.

On balance though he’s worth the gamble. Don’t you think?
