Liverpool reportedly weighing up summer move for another youngster of great promise

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool acquisitions so far – 19-year-old Marko Grujic and 24-year-old Steven Caulker – have suggested a nod towards youth.

And you would fully expect a coach like Klopp to be building for the long-term at Liverpool with his signings. If all goes well he could be there for a substantial amount of time as he was at Dortmund.

And another young star has been linked with a summer move to Liverpool of late.

The Mirror states:

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is weighing up a move for Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

The 21-year-old midfielder has already played 10 times for Poland and stuck his head above the parapet in that time with 3 goals. He could be likened to England international Dele Alli in terms of his early contribution to his nation.

The midfielder, who has played 48 times for Empoli and scored twice, is also reportedly being coveted by Juventus and Napoli and it’s easy to see why.

He’s composed, quick-thinking and adventurous.

The source also says that any move for the youngster could throw the future of Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen into doubt.

One of Brendan Rodgers’ first acquisitions for the club, Allen has figured quite prominently under Jurgen Klopp but he may find himself crowded out of the new look Liverpool.

With Jordan Henderson and James Milner almost guaranteed a starting place, Emre Can looking ever more prominent and Lucas enjoying something of a revival, the addition of Grujic and possible signing of Zielinski might mean that Allen is forced look elsewhere for regular football next season.
