Liverpool to make final bid for Lallana according to reports

The Adam Lallana to Liverpool stories has been one of the more painstaking for both sets of fans. Southampton fans will probably want to be put out of their misery one way or the other, while Liverpool are still unsure as to whether a deal can be brokered at all.

The Metro today suggests that there could be a an imminent solution to the impasse with Liverpool prepared to up their offer even more cash for the England man:

Liverpool are set to make a final ‘take it or leave it’ offer for Southampton captain Adam Lallana following weeks of stalemate talks.

The Reds have made Lallana their number one transfer target this summer, but have so far seen bids of £20million and then £23million rejected by the St Mary’s club.

We like the player but aren’t sure if he’s worth that sort of money, even in today’s inflated market.

While he has a really lovely touch and can make things happen we don’t see him as having enough pace to make a difference as a conventional winger. But, in Sterling, Sturridge and Suarez, Liverpool already have an abundance of quality who can fill the number 10 position that Lallana may ultimately be best suited to.

Anyway let’s see what he can do with some highlights. Liverpool fans, do you think he’s worth the cash or would someone like Xherdan Shaqiri represent money better spent?
