Liverpool’s next Sadio Mane?

In such a short time Liverpool have become extremely reliant on the services of summer signing Sadio Mane.

The Senegal international has offered the pace and power to pierce opposition lines and to turn defence into attack in just a few seconds.

But his injury has left Liverpool somewhat flat in attack and a manager with the style and philosophy of Jurgen Klopp will surely look to further bolster his attacking weaponry this summer.

The name to be linked in the latest news cycle is Arsenal forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The England international has many of the same traits as Mane. He’s so quick and a natural athlete who also has good intelligence. He’s not just a speedy winger who plays with his head down.

He’s got good vision and can play in several positions in the team. But there is a feeling that he is being underused at Arsenal and, at 23, now is the time for him to kick on in his career.

The Daily Telegraph reports:

Liverpool eye Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and are not put off by Arsenal’s £35million valuation

If Liverpool were to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain they would have great options in attack.

They could deploy him on the left or right flank with Mane on the other side and Coutinho pulling the strings from the number ten position.

This would give Liverpool even more speed on the counter and the ability to keep the opposition on the back foot due to that intense threat of being done on the counter.

TFF believes that Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a top signing for Liverpool. He’s a better player than Theo Walcott and hasn’t got the game time his talent deserves in his six years at Arsenal. He’s made 187 appearances and scored 20 goals but many of those have been off the bench.

Liverpool fans: is he worth 35m in today’s market?
