Man United will likely fail to qualify for CL and should sack Mourinho

Mourinho Angry

Manchester United bounced back from two goals down to earn a point vs Southampton but they showed no signs of improvement.

After 14 league fixtures, the Red Devils have only won 6 games and have 22 points, 16 points behind leaders Man City and 8 points behind 4th placed Gunners, who defeated Spurs at the Emirates earlier today.

Under Mourinho, United have signed defenders like Bailly (2016), Lindelof (2017) and Dalot (2018) and they have a world class goal like De Gea, still, the team’s goal difference in the league is MINUS ONE. This is absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable.

United need major reinforcements in the January transfer window but they are out of the title race and in my opinion, they would fail to finish in the top four as well. Goes without saying, they are not good enough to win the Champions League title.

Hence, they will likely fail to qualify for the Europe’s elite competition next season. If that happens then it would be a massive failure after spending quite a lot on the squad and Mourinho should be shown the door.

The Portuguese boss has done more bad than good and needs to be replaced if United do not earn Champions League qualification. Under his management, superstars like Sanchez, Lukaku, De Gea and record signing Pogba have performed badly and a new manager is needed to revitalize the team.

Three time CL winner, Zidane, would be a top quality replacement. At this moment, I will not even mind having Arsene Wenger in charge to get rid of the boring football being played under Mourinho.
