Mourinho Angry

According to reports going on in the media, Manchester United are close to agreeing a new long term deal with Luke Shaw.

As per The Times, the Red Devils are set to agree a fresh contract with the young defender that will make him earn £160,000-a-week, £41.6million in the next five years.

Shaw’s current contract with the Old Trafford club will expire next summer and at the moment, he earns £100,000-a-week (The Sun).

Manchester United mainly used Ashley Young, a natural winger, in the left back position last season. However, in the current campaign, Jose Mourinho has preferred Luke Shaw in the LB role.

The former Southampton player was mainly a bench warmer under the Portuguese boss in the past two seasons. In 2016-17 campaign, Shaw only started 9 league games under Jose, moreover, last season, he only started 8 league games.

This season, the 23-year-old defender has already started 7 times in the league and he only missed the contest vs Watford due to concussion. He has already scored a goal and provided an assist in the PL.

It is clear that Shaw has won Mourinho over and if he puts pen to paper then he will become the highest paid defender at Old Trafford. In your opinion, does he deserve the new deal?
