Manchester City confident of sealing mammoth transfer deal

It’s been rumour mill madness regarding Manchester City transfers over the last few days.

And while much of the noise has been coming from Old Trafford, with high profile arrivals, Manchester City’s new boss Pep Guardiola has been quietly going about his business in that classy manner of his.

The Guardian reported yesterday that City were tracking the brilliant youngsters Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Marlos Moreno.

And, as if that wasn’t enough to get the Sky Blue juices flowing, the same, highly respected source has now reported that the club are confident of concluding a move for Everton buccaneer John Stones. They write:

Manchester City are confident of buying John Stones from Everton but may acquire Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus only if Pep Guardiola is unsure about Vincent Kompany’s fitness.

Everton want £50m for Stones, but City rate him at £42m

If City bought both that would equate to about another £100m in fees alone. And, lest we forget (who could), Manchester City signed Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala for a similar amount over the last two years. They have money to burn – or money to waste according to some reviews of Mangala.

At 22, John Stones has already played 122 club games, 95 of them for Everton, and represented England on 10 occasions. He’s surely destined for footy greatness and we think that he will be one of the top 5 signings of the summer around Europe.

Let’s see some of his best moments in his short career. Manchester City fans: would you take Stones or Bonucci, given the choice?
