Report: Manchester City looking at 25-year-old wide man

When TFF looks at the Manchester City squad the most obvious area for improvement over the next couple of windows is surely in the full back positions. They have excellent players for those roles but all of them are in their 30s and Pep will doubtless be looking to add some flyers with youth on their side over the next couple of years.

Local media outlet, The Manchester Evening News, passes this one on:

Alex Sandro has been linked with City again, reports in Italy claiming the Blues are looking at the Juventus defender as they scout new full-backs.

The 25-year-old Brazilian, who spent his youth career at Atletico Parananense, has six caps for the national team after making his debut for Brazil on the way back in 2011.

His career at international level hasn’t really kicked on since then but he started to show some amazing form over the last few months adding consistency to all of that raw talent.

He moved to Europe in 2011 with Porto and played there for four seasons before making a huge move to Juventus for €26 million in 2015. He’s really exploded into life with The Old Lady and that has left Manchester City throwing admiring glances in his direction.

He played 32 times for Juventus last season and scored twice. This term he’s been an ever present when fit and played 19 games with one goal return.

Manchester City fans – is this the perfect addition to an ageing defence?
