Manchester City linked with goal machine

TFF is a fan of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola. But we do believe that he can overcomplicate things and sometimes cut his nose off to spite his face.

The case of Sergio Aguero is perfectly illustrative of this idea.

The feeling is that the Spanish coach doesn’t believe that the Argentine superstar is the perfect fit for his system.

While Aguero scores loads of goals perhaps Guardiola feels there is a lack of movement from the 28-year-old.

As such, he’s benched him at times this season and was starting Manchester City’s new signing Gabriel Jesus in Aguero’s place before the Brazilian got injured. It would have been fascinating to see how long Aguero would have warmed the bench had Jesus remained fit.

And with those two superstars in the offensive ranks you would have thought that Pep would be concentrating on signing better full backs for Manchester City.

Yet the Manchester club keeps getting linked with more strikers.

The latest name on the media’s lips is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and British media outlet, The Sun, reports:

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a target for Manchester City with Pep Guardiola prepared to go all-out for Borussia Dortmund forward if Sergio Aguero leaves

The Gabon international is of a similar age but a different profile. He’s more athletic than Aguero and certainly more powerful.

With 28 goals in 31 games this season he is a poacher but a direct player who also makes things happen. He has to be regarded as one of the hottest properties in Europe right now and TFF would be surprised if he didn’t cash in and make a hugely lucrative move this summer, while his stock is so high.

Manchester City fans: better than Aguero or not worth swapping?
