Manchester United will surely bolster their midfield ranks this summer as they continue to search for an able successor to the metronomic Michael Carrick who has brought ten years of top level service to the club.
And latest reports suggest that Manchester United will target another Tottenham player.
British media outlet, The Daily Mirror, reports:
Manchester United to test Tottenham’s resolve with £40m bid for England star Eric Dier
Dier moved to Spurs from Sporting Lisbon in August 2014 for £4m and has faced competition in midfield from Victor Wanyama
Dier has been a quietly impressive influence for Tottenham in their emergence as a top four Premier League side over the last few years and he has so many of the traits of his Tottenham predecessor Michael Carrick.
He’s a very mature player for his age who reads the game extremely well and passes the ball beautifully. He probably has more shooting ability than Carrick and scored for England in EURO 2016.
Overall Dier has 17 caps and two goals for England since his debut in 2015. At club level he has already amassed a highly impressive 128 appearances for Tottenham over the course of three seasons and scored 8 goals. His early career foray into the European game with Sporting Lisbon seems to have served him really well in terms of technical ability and he’s got a good eight years left at the top of the game.
TFF could easily see Manchester United making a move for a player who looks to have a great future for club and country.
Manchester United fans does Dier have a big enough football personality to make the grade at Old Trafford?
