Manchester United: £70m signing mooted

Manchester United are being linked with a big money move to bring a brilliant Monaco midfielder to the club.

British media outlet, The Sun, reports:

Monaco star Bernardo Silva lined up by Jose Mourinho with Real Madrid also interested

The diminutive 5ft 8in midfielder has played 10 times for Portugal since his debut in 2015 against Cape Verde.

He played just three games for Benfica before going out on loan to Monaco in 2014 and there his career really took off. While on loan he scored three goals in 21 games and the French giants saw enough to bring him to the club permanently.

He was a virtual ever present last season with seven goals in 44 games and this year he has been a guaranteed starter with five goals already from midfield in just 24 appearances.

This is a player who makes whole teams tick. He’s strong and athletic and shields the defence well. But his real value is in his passing and creativity. He would be a deeper partner for Paul Pogba but also join in attacks and score goals. Silva is a dream team mate because he reads the game so well.

With Silva supplying the bullets next season and Antoine Griezmann possibly gobbling up the service TFF can only imagine that Manchester United will soon be back to the top tier of football in England and Europe.

Manchester United fans – a perfect addition?
