Huge double move: Manchester United submit £70m bid and agree terms for Morata

Reports in the British media suggest that Manchester United could do deals for not one but two top strikers over the next couple of weeks.

British media outlet, The Independent, reports:

Manchester United are hopeful of doing a double striker deal for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Torino’s Andrea Belotti in the next two weeks, after agreeing terms with the Spanish striker and submitting a bid of around £70m for Belotti.

We have heard all about the idea of Alvaro Morata going to Manchester United over the last week or so.

There does appear to be substance in the story as more and more news media outlets are taking a similar line.

The Spaniard is a tried and tested striker without a prolific strike rate but someone who should hit 20 goals for Manchester United in most seasons. He’s a conventional number 9 with power, accuracy and good hold up play.

But the player who really excites us is Belotti. He too scores lots of goals and has had a brilliant couple of seasons in Italy. But it’s his general style of play which is really exciting. He loves to run at defenders and carry the ball up the park and as such could play on the wing or through the middle.

He’s scored three goals in eight games already in his young career and has hit 40 in 74 games for Torino including 28 in just 38 games last season.

He would be an excellent addition to the Manchester United side and also add fairy dust to a front line which, apart from Zlatan, hasn’t been doing business in front of goal over The last year.
