Manchester United have apparently been tracking the French international Antoine Griezmann for some time. And it did appear as if there may be some movement on over the last few weeks as the player admitted there was a 6/10 chance that he would be moving to Manchester United this summer in a huge transfer. But his latest quotes seem to suggest that he would be happy to stay at his current club Atletico Madrid.
British media outlet, the Daily Mail, quoted him is saying:
‘It has been a great year and I hope I can get better and win trophies with this team,’
Griezmann would be an absolutely sensational signing for Manchester United. The more we look at him the more we realise how much he has to his game.
He is a brilliant goalscorer but there is so much more than that beneath the surface. He is a genuine force of nature who knits the game together so beautifully and seems to play with effortless ease. He’s got an incredible first touch, he’s really fast, and he can hit the ball so hard from distance. So even though he scores lots of goals from close range he can also score spectacular from outside the area.
Perhaps José Mourinho wouldn’t play him at number nine but instead out wide and employ a bigger number 9. It will be very interesting to see who Manchester United splurge on but there’s going to be a lot of money spent.
