Spotted at team hotel: Remarkable recovery by Manchester United star ahead of Arsenal?

Manchester United’s veteran flanker Antonio Valencia could be in line for a shock return against Arsenal on Saturday as he was reportedly spotted joining up with his team mates at The Lowry Hotel on Friday night.

The Manchester Evening News reports:

Valencia has missed the last three games with a fractured arm but the Ecuadorian, who has posted positive fitness updates on his Instagram page, could be in line for a swift return to the team on Saturday.

It’s not a light injury and many expected Valencia to be out for much longer. But with the right back spot continuing to be an issue for Manchester United this season Valencia’s potential return will be a boost for embattled manager Jose Mourinho.

Ashley Young filled in at right wing back in the last outing against Swansea and Jose may go with this formation again after a positive result and one of the better performances of the season from his men. Timothy Fosu-Mensah has great potential but remains raw and it’s difficult to imagine Mourinho throwing him in at the deep end against Arsenal.

With Matteo Darmian playing well on the left against Swansea he could fill in at right back should Valencia not be fit enough for this one.
