Bid Made: Manchester United table £28m offer to seal major summer deal

Manchester United are seemingly hellbent on a deal to bring Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Old Trafford this summer. So much so that they have made an improved bid of £28m for a player who has just one year left on his contract at Borussia Dortmund.

That’s according to The Daily Mirror which states:

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s Manchester United transfer edges closer as Old Trafford giants table improved offer

this latest bid is for an initial £28m, plus add-ons

Reports earlier this week suggested that around £20m was on the table from Manchester United for the Armenian international but that Borussia Dortmund were adamant that he would stay and see out the remaining year on his contract.

But with the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, stating this week that the players wanted to come to Manchester Untied ‘by any means’ it seems as if this deal is now very likely to happen for Jose Mourinho and his new club.

Although the Germans are clearly unhappy about the situation they would be compensated with a huge amount of money for a player with only 12 months on the contract. Indeed £28m is a good sum for any player with that short a contract.

We shall see how things develop over the next few days but TFF believes that this one is almost in the bag for Manchester United and we would now be extremely surprised if the player is not wearing the red of Manchester come September as Jose Mourinho continues to build a title challenging squad for next season.
