What a difference a new manager can make.
Without playing a competitive game Jose Mourinho has returned the feel good factor to Manchester United and his allure as a coach seems to have completely changed the complexion of the club’s transfer business.
Jose is clearly a friend of Mino Raiola who has already facilitated deals for two of his clients, Zlatan and Henrikh, and is reportedly about to conclude the biggest move of the lot – a world record transfer of Paul Pogba.
That deal has all but been agreed according to reports in France and Pogba will be unveiled after Manchester United return from China in the middle of next week.
But a far lesser known midfielder also looks set to join the club as widespread reports suggest that Manchester United are set to sign another youngster. The Manchester Evening News states:
Joshua Bohui was spotted at the same academy as Nathaniel Clyne and is set to complete a transfer to Manchester United.
A deal is yet to be finalised for a player who was included in the England U17 squad for the first time earlier this year. But the winger is expected to sign a three year contract and join up with the United academy soon.
Manchester United’s youth coach Nicky Butt said earlier this year that the club needs to embellish its youth ranks:
“We’re short on a few numbers in the different age groups and it’s something we need to address,”
“Something we are addressing and something we will hopefully get over the line in the next few weeks, in time for next season.”
