Manchester United: 3 more transfer deals looming?

At least the majority of Manchester United’s incoming transfer business has been done and United fans are licking their lips about the additions.

But attention may now turn to trimming the squad and The Manchester Evening News suggests that three players, in particular, are at risk.

Manchester United could sell Juan Mata and Adnan Januzaj in the transfer window and there is also reported interest in Daley Blind.

Juan Mata

A lovely guy but never one of TFF’s favourites, Juan Mata would surely only have a nominal role at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho. It’s been proven over the last two years that he is ineffective out wide and needs to play at number ten. But he’s unlikely to take that position from Wayne Rooney and may even find himself behind Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the pecking order for the role in the hole.

There have been rumours of interest from newly minted Everton according to the report.

Adnan Januzaj

We were quite impressed by his short cameos in pre-season. Unfortunately Januzaj lacks the pace of a top winger and will find his route to number 10 similarly blocked.

He may go on loan to Sunderland but any permanent move will surely include a buyback option.

Daley Blind

Has been linked to a move to Inter Milan by MEN but TFF thinks that Jose Mourinho has been quietly impressed by Blind since the Portuguese took control of Manchester United. Blind is a very safe pair of hands in the same mould as a Ricardo Carvalho. We think that Blind could turn out to be Jose’s go to utility man.
