12 players most at risk of being sold by Manchester United?

It’s going to be a crazy summer in the market for Manchester United and we believe that Jose will start selling once he knows exactly who is coming in.

And there are a lot of players who probably don’t fit the bill. Manchester United fans must be absolutely delighted that they finally have a world-class coach to separate the diamonds from the duffers.

TFF looks at who might depart.

Bastian Schweinsteiger

He looked so off the pace last season and, even though he has had some decent cameos at EURO 2016, he doesn’t really fit into the Mourinho template of dynamic and pacy anchor men. We can’t see him staying. America?

VERDICT: See you later mate

Ander Herrera

Undoubtedly gifted but inconsistent, Herrera can look like a world-beater but needs to focus if he wants to remain in the ruthless new manager’s plans.

VERDICT: Could get another season to prove his worth

Juan Mata

Wasn’t rated by Jose at Chelsea and has been decent at United but that’s really indicative of the whole squad post-Fergie – decent but not great.

VERDICT: Laters mate

Marouane Fellaini

TFF never enjoys watching this guy but, strangely, he may be less susceptible to the chop than some others because Mourinho values physical strength. But the blond bombshell rarely fails to drag the quality of games downwards.

VERDICT: Probably off

Ashley Young

His continued presence at Manchester United depends on his level of ambition. If he wants to start regularly he will have to move on. If he’s happy to be a utility man he could be handy at times.

VERDICT: Could hang around for another season. 50/50

Antonio Valencia

Has been slowly deteriorating for 5 years.

VERDICT: GONE

Sergio Romero

Jose may opt for younger understudies like the promising Castro Pereira and Sam Johnstone.

VERDICT: 50/50

Daley Blind

He just doesn’t fit the new template.

VERDICT: GONE

Matteo Darmian

He often looks as if he’s just been hit hard on the head.

VERDICT: GONE

Adnan Januzaj

He may have an Oscar-like future at No.10 for Manchester United under Jose. He definitely doesn’t have the pace or lungs for the wings.

VERDICT: Needs to improve quickly

Memphis Depay

Now this is a player who could be a big success under Jose. Power, pace, guile. He needs more focus and consistency but we can see Jose putting a much-needed arm around this very talented young man.

VERDICT: Staying

Will Keane

GONE
