Report: Manchester United target silky 22-year-old speed demon – another big spend

Manchester United are unlikely to let January pass without more major surgery on the side.

And latest reports in the British media suggest that Jose Mourinho will invest in another fullback to bolster his shaky defence.

The Daily Star reports:

JOSE MOURINHO has targeted £25m Napoli star Elseid Hysaj as he prepares to give Chris Smalling and Matteo Darmian the boot from Manchester United.

The 22-year-old Napoli star was signed from Empoli for just £5m in 2015 but has been one of the stars of the show for an improving Napoli side who finished as runners up in Serie A last season.

The pacy and skilful right back, who can also operate in the centre of the defence, has played 25 times for Albania despite his tender years and was an ever present for Napoli last year, playing 43 games in his debut campaign for the club.

The Manchester United board don’t really need to put targets on the season. Jose will do that for himself and TFF feels that not qualifying for The Champions League would be out of the question for the Special One.

So, depending on the form of the team at the time he will add one or two more players albeit in a traditionally tough window to do really good business.

But the defence looks most vulnerable and having a more solid platform would surely help the players further forward too.

Let’s see the young speed demon in action.
