Manchester United expected to sell £150,000 per week man

Schweinsteiger could be offski

Manchester United are excepted to sell Bastian Schweinsteiger this summer, particularly if they Paul Pogba to the club, according to a report in British media outlet, The Telegraph. They said:

“Paul Pogba’s impending arrival at Manchester United is expected to usher Bastian Schweinsteiger towards the exit door with the Germany midfielder already well down the pecking order at Old Trafford.”

The report states that players like Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Morgan Schneiderlin and Michael Carrick are already ahead of the World Cup winner in the pecking order and that Pogba’s arrival will almost certainly leave Basti surplus to requirements.

TFF has long believed that Bastian Schweinsteiger would be one of the first to leave under the new manager, who loves a mobile midfielder, and the biggest stumbling block could be the fact that the player has two years to run on a whopping £150,000 per week contract.

It’s difficult to imagine any club – except perhaps one in China – paying that sort of money for a player who is close to the football scrapheap and the report states that there was consternation among some of the top brass at Old Trafford when Louis van Gaal decided to bring the player to Manchester United last summer.

But TFF believes that Schweinsteiger is certainly not the sort of player or man that will sit around and let his contract run down just to earn a massive payday. He’s an honourable man who won’t want to be at a club where he is not needed and will find a new challenge in or out of the game.

Basti is a great guy but, as many predicted, his body hasn’t been able to sustain his career at Manchester United having put in so many hard yards through his time in football.

We fully expect Basti to leave the club this summer.
