Manchester United: Deal agreed for 23-year-old

Latest reports suggest that Manchester United have allowed their young right back Guillermo Varela go out on loan to Germany for the season.

The Daily Mail states:

Manchester United defender Guillermo Varela has agreed a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 23-year-old had a decent run in the Manchester United team last season under Louis van Gaal and looked for a while as if he could cement his place in the first XI.

The pacey and dynamic defender played some important games for the club but never quite nailed down his place in the side.

And it appears that Jose Mourinho isn’t the biggest admirer either as the player has agreed a temporary move to Frankfurt for the season.

The Uruguayan played 11 times for Manchester United and was the first signing of David Moyes back in 2013.

TFF still believes that he can have a future at Manchester United. He does tick many of the boxes for a United fullback with his speed and adventurous style of play.

But Manchester United do you have a really good cover on the right side without actually having a specialist right back with any experience.

Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young can both play there. Phil Jones might fancy his chances at right back and Timothy Fosu-Mensah is coming through the ranks strongly at Manchester United.

Furthermore, new signing Eric Bailly might also have a run on the right side of the defence as he gains experience in The Premier League.

Let’s have a look at some of the highlights of Varela through his short Manchester United career.
