Manchester United: Private jet arrives at Manchester Airport from Germany – report

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal to bring Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the club with a transfer expected this weekend.

The Daily Mail reports on Friday afternoon that a private jet has arrived in Manchester airport from Dortmund although they stop short of confirming that the plane had Henrikh Mkhitaryan on board.

They say:

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is on the verge of completing his move to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund, with the deal expected to be done at the weekend.

A private jet arrived from Dortmund at Manchester Airport at 3.30pm on Friday afternoon, although the club declined to confirm that the 27–year-old forward was on board.

This is now a well-documented move by Manchester United and it would constitute a major surprise if the playmaker didn’t sign for the club in the coming days.

His current club appear to have relented on their initial stance that the player would see out the final year of his contract and the offer from Manchester United, of somewhere in the region of £27m, is too good for the German club to turn down.

The Armenia international usually plays on the wing but he can operate on either flank or through the middle and we can well imagine new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho deploying him in several positions until he finds his winning formula for the coming season.

Eric Bailly has joined Manchester United from Villarreal this summer and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is having a medical at the club ahead of signing a deal.
