Enquiries made: Manchester United linked to another world star

Manchester United have been linked to a move for the sublime talents of Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.

The Colombian international has been constantly linked with a move away from Spain having fallen down the pecking order at Real Madrid since Zinedine Zidane took charge at Los Blancos.

And British media outlet, The Sun, is the latest to make waves on this story by suggesting that £50m will be enough to persuade Real Madrdi to sell.

They say:

Manchester United enquire over possibility of signing James Rodriguez in summer — with Real Madrid demanding £50million

The 25-year-old has a really impressive record for Colombia with 17 goals in 52 appearances.

And at club level he has done well too with 27 goals in 94 games for Los Blancos.

The big question is not whether Manchester United can afford him but where they would play him. With Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick imperious for United this season it’s difficult to see where he would fit into this line up.

But it would be a very exciting signing for the club and one which would perhaps reignite the career of a player who certainly doesn’t lack quality but has perhaps lost his way somewhat over the last couple of years, having exploded onto the scene at the World Cup in 2014.

Manchester United fans – where would he play in the first XI?
