With so little game time under his belt this season, even in less important cup games, the writing does appear to be on the wall for Memphis Depay in terms of his Manchester United career.
Still only 22 years of age Depay has already played 27 times for the Netherlands and scored five goals. But he just hasn’t been able to transfer that form to Manchester United and this term he’s hardly had a look and with only 7 appearances and no goals scored.
He looks to TFF to be the ultimate confidence player and he doesn’t have any of it right now. His head has just gone down and it’s clear that he doesn’t have the trust of Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
Latest reports suggest that Manchester United want to offload him for good and will not except a loan deal this January. In light of what happened with Kevin de Bruyne at Chelsea perhaps Jose is playing a risky game.

It is a sad end to a Manchester United career which promised so much. This was a highly sought after talent who scored 25 goals in the Dutch league before he came to Manchester United in the summer of 2015.
The early portents were good as he played at number 10 and caused all sorts of problems to opposition defences in his first few games. But his form has been sporadic to say the least and he just doesn’t seem to have the mental strength to push through that glass ceiling that he has created for himself. If anything he looks to be trying too hard.
A move to Everton could suit all parties because the Toffees would be getting a player who could become world class while Manchester United would be making space for another more consistent forward to come in.
Memphis was given the number seven shirt at Manchester United and perhaps the weight of expectation was simply too much for him.
