It’s a toss up for which of Tottenham’s fullbacks has been superior this season. Both Kyle Walker and Danny Rose have been absolutely superb in the Tottenham defence. But if TFF had to pick one of the two it would be Rose.
The reason is that we think he’s probably slightly better at defending and just as good going forward. He’s incredibly athletic, indefatigable and uber-focused.
And 26 years of age he really is coming into the prime of his career. Latest reports suggest that Manchester United are leading the race for his signature. British media outlet, The Daily Mirror, reports:
Manchester United lead race for in-demand Danny Rose with Tottenham bracing themselves for potential exit
The 5’8″ England international moved to Tottenham in 2007 but went on loan no less than four times before establishing himself in the first team at White Hart Lane. But since then he’s gone on to become an indispensable member of the first team and a player who catches the eye virtually every time he plays.
Due to injury he only played 21 times for Tottenham this season and scored two goals. But he’s been increasingly prominent in the side over the last 3 to 4 years and that form has brought him 12 England caps.
Manchester United look uncertain at left back when no one has really shone this season. They signed Luke Shaw for a world record transfer for a teenager but he really hasn’t kicked on and his form must be a worry to Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
Many Manchester United fans will hope that the youngster stays at the club but the addition of Rose would provide great cover for the squad.
Manchester United fans – is a much better player than Luke Shaw?
