Manchester United and Liverpool linked with highly sought after 21-year-old

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been touted as potential suitors for the prodigious talents of PSG defender Fresnel Kimpembe.

The 21-year-old defender has been raising eyebrows with some inordinately mature performances in France this season and British media outlet, The Sun, reckons that at least a trio of Premier League clubs are keen.

The Sun reports:

Born in Beaumont-sur-Oise, France, the 6ft tall centre back has played 9 times for France U21s and looks set for a long career with the seniors if his potential is fulfilled.

He came up through the ranks at PSG and started to get a game in the first team at the end of last season. He played 9 times in the last campaign and has hit the ground running this season with 7 games already.

He’s quick, already robust and good with the ball at his feet.

While he is far from the finished product it’s easy to imagine that all three of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool would be interested.

Liverpool are decent in defence but it remains the weak spot of their team. If they can add another top keeper, centre back and left back they will surely be far closer to bringing the title home to Anfield.

Manchester United look pretty well set in central defence but there are still questions marks over the technique of Chris Smalling and the central defensive capabilities of Daley Blind.

And Chelsea should certainly be in the market for another centre back, with John Terry coming to the end of his career.
