‘There have been approaches’: Manchester United linked with signing of pacy forward as vice-president suggests a tug of war

Manchester United have made an approach for a comparatively unknown South American winger, Hirving Lozano, as Jose looks to make a quick mark in the transfer window this summer at Old Trafford.

ESPN reports:

Manchester United are one of several clubs to have made an approach for Mexico winger Hirving Lozano, according to the vice president of the player’s club Pachuca.

The vice-president of his club Pachucha of Mexico is quoted as saying:

“There have been approaches. There will be time to focus on the future of Hirving Lozano.”

The 20-year-old Mexico international (3 caps and 1 goal) stands at 5ft 10in and doesn’t look too dissimilar, in terms of gait, to Manchester United’s last Mexican forward Javier Hernandez.

He’s scored 33 goals in 122 games for his club and been a revelation for one so young, but is much more of a wide man than Hernandez.

There is certainly a need for more pace out wide and it remains to be seen what Mourinho has planned for the mercurial talents of Memphis Depay.

TFF believes that, under the right tutelage, Depay can do a great job on the right wing but even if he stays next season Manchester United could use some more depth in that area of the squad.

Here are some of the best moments of the player during his formative career so far. Manchester United fans – does he look like the sort of player who could get bums off seats at Old Trafford?
