Ridiculous: Manchester United linked with another La Liga star

Manchester United have been linked, of late, with the talents of Real Madrid playmaker Isco. The 24-year-old trickster has never quite found a regular starting position at Los Blancos and murmurs this week have suggested that he will move on.

The Mirror chipped in with:

Manchester United eye transfer swoop for Isco of Real Madrid in the January window

The Spanish international, who has won 14 caps since his debut in 2013, has scored 22 goals in 152 appearances for Real Madrid over the last four years.

But, with such a fearsome front line, gametime hasn’t always been easy for Isco to come by, despite his versatility.

But his main position is number 10 and Manchester United surely don’t need any more of those right now.

Whatever you think of Wayne Rooney he is the team captain and seems to be a Mourinho favourite. Beyond him, the world’s most expensive player would love to play in the hole. Then there is Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a wonderful player who we haven’t seen anything of just yet. But he prefers the number 10 spot too.

Add Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and the on-loan Adnan Januzaj and there is a complete log jam at number ten.

Isco can, of course, also play on the wing. But Jose loves an uber-quick athlete for his wide berths and, for all his talents, Isco isn’t one of those. Jose may well add another winger but TFF thinks it would be more of a specialist in the Sadio Mane/Willian mould.

For now, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are more than capable of honing their talents out wide.

There could well be further investment in January but, quite frankly, TFF feels that we can put the Isco rumour to bed right now.
