Manchester United linked with perfect Bale and Ronaldo alternative

Jose Mourinho loves to build from the back and, as such, a large chunk of the transfer kitty will again go on defensive reinforcements this summer.

But what Manchester United fans really want to see is the sort of attacking football which has been happening week in and week at at locals rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.

Used to seeing bucket loads of entertainment, most United fans would rather see a game finish 5-4 than 1 or 2 to nothing. Entertainment is the name of the game and many fans still believe that further investment is needed in the creative areas.

So it will come as a welcome distraction for them to read this week that that the club is reportedly keen on two genuine football wizards.

The Manchester Evening News writes that Jose Mourinho is looking to France for a dose of creativity and penned an article about the continued interest in Italy’s pint-sized creator Marco Veratti.

According to the report:

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho personally watched £100m Marco Verratti

That was in January and the report continues that:

Now he is being linked with a bid of between £75m-100m for the Italian international at a time when United have been closely monitoring Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Veratti is a really nice player who isn’t dissimilar in style or position to Paul Scholes. He’s a great passer of the ball who makes thing happen and scores goals.

But the really interesting story for TFF this week was the reported rekindling of interest for Bordeaux wide man Malcolm.

Of course a youtube highlights reel could make me look like Messi but this kid does look like he has all the tricks in the book and twinned with his pace he could be a real star at Manchester United.

Sky Sports passes this one on when they report:

Manchester United could bring in a pair of Ligue 1 players over the summer as they lead the race to sign Paris St Germain’s Marco Verratti and Bordeaux’s Malcom, despite keen interest from other top European clubs

The 21-year-old Brazilian has already played 169 games in South America and at Bordeaux, scoring over 30 goals in that time. While United fans know what they are going to get from Gareth Bale, Malcolm could provide the sort of excitement that made Cristiano Ronaldo such a delightful signing for the club.
