Bad Move: Manchester United losing out to rivals on winger signing – report

Manchester City have reportedly moved ahead of fierce rivals Manchester United in the bid to sign the brilliant young Ger,and winger Leroy Sane this summer, according to reports in Germany.

Süddeutsche Zeitung Reports (via BBC):

Manchester City have moved ahead of rivals Manchester United in the race to sign Schalke and Germany winger Leroy Sane, 20, who is valued at £40m.

And The Manchester Evening News reports:

Manchester United vs Manchester City for Sane has Blues ahead according to reports

TFF attempts to stay neutral in such matters but every now and again a player comes along who merits closer scrutiny.

And we would have to say that Manchester City will be masterminding a huge coup if they do beat United to the punch on this one.

Because we would revert to Sane as an even richer man’s version of the brilliant Brazilian winger Willian.

Like Willian, Sane has incredible running power and never seems to tire. But he adds so much finesse and penetration to the athleticism, plus and eye for goal.

Quite how Manchester City would fit him in to their side is the subject of some debate and may not be great news for Raheem Sterling.

Whereas there is an obvious berth on the right of midfield for Sane at Manchester United where Jesse Lingard has played fairly well but doesn’t convince TFF that he is the long-term answer.

The youngster has played 3 times for world champions Germany and 57 times for Schalke in The Bundesliga (13 goals).
