Manchester United to match any offer for world star – report

Manchester United are reportedly ready to match any offer made for the highly sought after Paul Pogba this summer as the hunt for his signature intensifies.

Sky Sports writes:

Whispers linking the Juventus midfielder with a return to Old Trafford have intensified after reports newly appointed United boss Mourinho was eager to land a summer signing and United were willing to match any offer Real Madrid could make.

TFF still very much expects Pogba to end up at Real Madrid if he does make a move from a stubborn Juventus side that is ostensibly desperate to hold on to their star man whatever the offer.

Quite apart from the fact that Pogba had what could be described as a turbulent spell at Manchester United in his early career, the allure of a Real Madrid side coached by French legend Zinedine Zidane could be too much to resist for the 23-year-old.

But if a bidding war ensues this deal could get interesting. Pogba can of course refuse any move, even if Manchester United do offer more money than Real Madrid, but he may feel more love from Old Trafford than El Bernabeu if United make their intent clear.

And the player is still young enough to make another big move in 4 years anyway.

So perhaps there is room for some optimism that a deal to Manchester United can be brokered, particularly as Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is clearly on good terms with Jose Mourinho with two of his other clients – Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic – likely to join United this summer.

Here is some more Pogba magic. We shall keep you updated on any movement on this one as it happens.
