Manchester United: Mino Raiola says no deal on Pogba

Manchester United fans will be exasperated to hear that Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has taken to Twitter to dispel rumours that a deal is done for the Frenchman.

The Dutch super agent, who is fast becoming a higher profile figure than Pogba himself, is seemingly holding the press, the fans and the world of football in his hands at the moment. A £100m deal has been widely mooted but, as yet, an agreement hasn’t been reached according to the man in the know.

It will be fascinating to see how his disparaging remarks about the media will play out in the weekend papers. But, like it or not, Raiola is the pivotal figure in this deal and he is keeping his cards brilliantly close to his chest at this point.

We don’t even know for sure if Real Madrid still have a part to play in this deal.

But quality sources like The Guardian have reported that a move to Manchester United is very close for the 23-year-old and TFF imagines that Raiola could possibly be using social media to strengthen his bargaining position with the fees that he is demanding, and which are reportedly holding up the deal.

Manchester United play Galatasaray tomorrow in a pre-season friendly. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been named in the match day squad and could make this debut for the club with just 9 days to go before The Community Shield against Leicester at Wembley.

We will of course keep you updated on events with Pogba as they unfold.
