41 goals last season: Manchester United offered world class forward

German media outlet, Sport Bild, states that Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi is on the hunt for a new club for his star turn:

Zahavi had last offered his player to Manchester United, Chelsea FC and Paris Saint-Germain, but the striker did not seem to be really convinced by these clubs. It is above all Real Madrid that attracts Lewandowski.

A week ago the agent stated that the player:

“feels that he needs a change and a new challenge in his career”.

He’s a prolific striker and has proven over a long period that he can consistently hit the high notes.

332 goals in 557 top level games in Poland and Germany. His goal for stats read 25, 42, 43 and 41 in his four years at Bayern since he left Dortmund.

And anyone who thinks that he still needs to prove himself in Spain or England can draw confidence from his 52 goals in 93 games at international level for an average Poland side.

So would he improve Manchester United and would it be money well spent? Because with a decent time still left on his Bayern contract he would cost a small fortune in salary and transfer fees.

But this is a world-class striker who is a cut above Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is still learning his trade at 24 but his technique and ruthlessness in front of goal may never reach the lofty standards of the Pole. Lewandowksi is a master marksmen and Lukaku still a promising, if regularly clumsy, pretender.

With Manchester United being linked with the highly experienced likes of Gareth Bale, Willian and Toby Alderweireld another veteran may not be high up the list of priorities.

But Manchester United would be noticeably sharper in front of goal next season if they did opt for Lewandowski.

Let’s see him in action. Manchester United fans: a wise move?
