Manchester United remain in transfer talks with old rivals

British media outlet, The Daily Mail, reports:

Manchester United remain in talks with Aston Villa over a loan move for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone

Manchester United have an undoubted number one keeper in David de Gea of course. In the big games he will continue to remain the first player on the team sheet.

But perhaps the crucial factor in Jose Mourinho’s decision to potentially allow Johnstone to leave the club for the rest of the season is the excellent form of Sergio Romero as understudy.

Romero has played regularly for Manchester United in the cup competitions this season and seems to have shaken off the regular wobbles that he was suffering at the start of his United career.
