Not Morata: Manchester United close to completing 2nd deal?

A deal for Alvaro Morata to join Manchester United this summer looks like it will go ahead over the next week or so. But Manchester United may make another signing before that according to reports in the European media.

Local news media outlet the Manchester Evening News passed this story on on Sunday evening:

Reports in France suggest should Fabinho not extend his stay at Monaco then United is the only club on his wishlist and O Jogo in Portugal believe a deal is close to completion.

Manchester United have been without a specialist right back for a long time now and they could really use a player of Fabinho’s quality. Looking around Europe there aren’t too many players who tick as many boxes as this guy. He’s got great pace and dynamism. He’s an excellent athlete who gets up and down that wing all day long and seemingly without too much effort. And he’s almost as good in attack as he is in defence. He’s solid at the back but loves to get forward and has a superb delivery with that right foot. He also scores a few goals as his excellent scoring records suggests.

He scored a remarkable 11 goals last season in 50 games and that added to his career total of 24 goals in 224 matches.

Fabinho started out his senior career at Real Madrid before going on loan to Monaco and then moving on a permanent deal. He’s been absolutely frightening in the French league and he would be a superb addition to the Manchester United team.
