Manchester United in talks to sign winger as president confirms interest – reports

Manchester United are said to be in negotiations to sign experienced winger Ivn Perisic from Inter Milan.

British media outlet, Sky Sports, reports:

Manchester United in transfer talks for Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan

The report states that the 28-year-old international is keen on a move and would cost in excess of £36 million. It is also reported that Chelsea are keen to sign the player and that Manchester united may not have it all their own way in terms of negotiations.

And another British media outlet, The Metro, quotes the president of Inter as saying:

‘[United] haven’t made us an official offer for Perisic but their interest is there,’ Ausilio told Premium Sport on Sunday.

The 6’2″ Croatia international has scored 16 goals in 56 appearances for his country has been a sensation in Italy since he moved from German club Wolfsburg in 2015.

He’s been an ever present when fit in the Italian side and scored 19 goals in 77 appearances for the club. That includes 10 goals in 40 games this season.

He is a technically brilliant winger who has pace and power. Obviously his statistics suggest that he’s also got an eye for goal but he’s much more of a creator than a scorer and puts the ball on a plate for his centre forwards more often than not.

The fact that he’s already in his late 20s would suggest that this would be his final big contract and is not going to play for Manchester United for the next 10 years. But he could make a real difference in the Champions League next season and is on the top of his game right now.

Manchester united fans – would you prefer a younger player to come in for that sort of money?
