Aston Villa and England attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers could be set for a summer switch to Manchester United, in a deal mooted to be around £80m.
Rogers has impressed at Aston Villa

The England international has impressed for Villa since a switch from Middlesbrough in 2024, which cost the Villans an initial £8m, plus add-ons that could take the fee as high as £15m.
Since the move, Rogers has gone on to make 119 appearances in all competitions for the Midlands outfit, scoring 29 goals. That record includes nine Premier League goals and five assists, as well as two Europa League goals and three assists for his teammates.
His performances for Villa have earned him 13 caps for England, including one goal against Wales in a friendly in October 2025.
The 23-year-old has shown his versatility at Villa, having played all across the attacking midfield positions this season, plus as a central striker. That versatility will only add to his appeal.
Villa are keen to hang on to one of their key attacking players. However, financial rules may mean that even if they qualify for the Champions League, Villa will have to bring in players to balance the books. Reluctantly selling Rogers would be the easiest way to do that.
United are looking to strengthen in attack

Although Manchester United brought in the likes of Bryan Mbuemo, Matteus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko last summer, the Red Devils are still looking to strengthen their forward line.
United are closing in on qualification for next season’s Champions League. That will mean a financial boost, but also that the men from Manchester will have to bring in quality players to compete with Europe’s elite.
Rogers looks to be United’s primary attacking target, although the likes of Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye and RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande have also been linked with a move to the north west club.
However, according to reports from Germany, Diomande is open to remaining in Leipzig and signing a new deal, which would include a release clause allowing him to leave if Die Roten Bullen fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
