Manchester United to finally sign one of the best wingers in the world this summer or is it just more tabloid talk?

The rumours are flying now as we enter the summer and that oh so crucial transfer window.

And one of the most oft-mooted transfers of the the last few years has reared its head again this week.

Rumours in Spain suggest that Gareth Bale will finally move to Manchester United from Real Madrid, with The Express passing this on:

GARETH BALE has agreed to join Manchester United this summer if they qualify for the Champions League – according to sensational reports in Spain.

The 27-year-old Wales international who has scored 26 goals in 66 games for his country has largely been a success in Spain despite periods of time where Los Blancos fans have been somewhat unsure about him.

He’s hit 67 goals in 149 games for the club and while this record doesn’t compare favourably with main man Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale has been a consistent scorer and provider who seems happy at Real Madrid.

But he has been out for substantial chunks of this season due to injury and the report states that the owners of Real Madrid are unhappy with his fitness and may want to cash in.

TFF does sense that big changes could be afoot at the club despite Madrid being very consistent over the last few years. They look nailed on for another Champions League final and are always competitive in the league. But Ronaldo and Benzema will needs replacements before too long and Bale may be deemed surplus to requirements.

But he would be welcomed with open arms if he did decide to join Manchester United, who are still lacking speed of play and penetration up top.

Manchester United fans: will this be the summer when the club finally gets their mitts on Bale or is it just more tabloid talk?
