Manchester United are serious: huge bid readied for forward – report

TFF fully expects Manchester United to be one of the biggest spenders in the transfer market over the summer months and speculation is already starting to intensify as to who they might splurge on once the season is over.

Respected Italian media outlet, Corriere Dello Sport reports:

Manchester United are serious: 60 million euro ready for Ivan Perisic. Mourinho has been clear with his property: the team is reinforced if you want to compete with the other battleships of the Premier. And one of the priorities of José is the 28-year old Inter offensive.

Perisic has been ablaze in Serie A since he moved to Inter in 2015. He arrived from Wolfsburg where he scored 21 goals in 88 games over two highly successful seasons.

And his form has continued in Italy where he has 18 goals in 68 appearances since he joined the sleeping giants of Serie A.

He’s also been a stalwart for Croatia with 16 goals in 55 appearances for his country since his debut in 2011.

Perisic is a clever, quick and direct winger with an obvious eye for goal.

TFF wonders whether Manchester United would, however, be prepared to shell out so much money on a 28-year-old. Of course, if that player was of the very top echelon of footballers then it would have to be considered a smart move.

But if this deal goes ahead it may smack of desperation to some.

Manchester United lie sixth in the Premier League table and while they haven’t lost in the league in five whole months, there is a patent paucity of goals running through a pretty pedestrian XI.
