Manchester United set to miss out on stellar forward

If latest reports are to be believed, Manchester United are set to miss out to rivals on the signing of an oft-linked young forward.

Football broadcaster, BEIN Sports, reports:

After Julian Draxler, a second player is close to signing in Paris. According to our information, the club of the Capitale would be very close to attract the striker of Benfica Gonçalo Guedes.

Likened by some observers to Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo the 20-year-old forward made his breakthrough for Benfica in the 2014/15 season with nine eye-catching performances at the back end of the campaign. He hit the gourd running in 2015/16 with 31 appearances and four goals which drew admiring glances form big clubs around Europe. And his stats this season have been even more impressive with seven goals in 28 appearances for the Portuguese giants.

He does look exactly like the sort of player to get bums off seats at Manchester United with his simple desire to attack, his bewitching flair and his obvious eye for goal.

TFF thinks that Manchester United’s only concern would be consistency in the long term. Will Cuedes turn out to be a Nani or a Ronaldo?

Only time will tell but we think that PSG have got a fine player and United may live to regret their indifference on this one.
