Report: These 4 players likely to leave Manchester United – over £90m worth of talent

Even the self-anointed biggest club in the world has to make ends meet.

And the potential deal to bring Paul Pogba to Manchester United will, in all likelihood, require a world record fee. If he moves, Pogba will become the first £100m player in history.

And if that deal comes off, heads will roll. Manchester United already have a huge squad and it appears that Jose Mourinho is doing the sensible thing in signing his targets before letting players leave.

But The Daily Mail asserts that four players are likely to leave if and when Pogba joins.

“Juan Mata, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Morgan Schneiderlin likely to go”

Juan Mata £37.1m

The writing seemed to be on the wall for the charming and unfortunate Mata as soon as Jose Mourinho came to the club. The Special One sold Mata to Manchester United for £37.1m in January 2014 to the chagrin of many at Chelsea but he hasn’t justified his price tag. He’s been tidy and scored a few goals but he doesn’t have the power or pace to change games regularly. That said, he has rarely been played in his favoured number 10 role.

Morgan Schneiderlin £24m

Started well at Manchester United but he seemed to lose his confidence, as so many did under LvG, and was a shadow of the player who dominated the midfield for Southampton. He also lost his place in the France squad for EURO 2016.

Marcos Rojo – £16m

We still have a hunch that United may keep the Argentinian as he has lots of the raw materials that Jose likes in a defender i.e. strength, pace and a good engine.

Daley Blind – £13.8m

Another who has played fairly well for Manchester United but isn’t a specialist and surely won’t get another season at centre back. He lacks the power of a Jose central defender.

TOTAL £90.9m
