Manchester United: Two medicals – reports

Manchester United would appear to be getting a big chunk of their summer transfer business out of the way before the World Cup with reports that Fred and Diogo Dalot will undergo medicals this week.

According to Sky Sports Diogo Dalot will undergo his medical later this week in what looks like a coup for the club.

The player has been setting tongues wagging around Europe will a dozen displays of consistency beyond his years for Porto at the back end of the season. With Portugal’s defence not looking particularly watertight one wonders how close he was to getting into the World Cup squad this summer.

And the move for Brazil midfielder Fred looks to be finally reaching its final furlongs with reports around Europe suggesting that his Manchester United medical will take place on Monday.

Some reports suggest that the medical has already happened:

And Brazil coach Tite has added fuel to the fire by stating that he would prefer a deal to be done quickly and that Manchester United are getting a good deal.

“When this happens, and it is inevitable, they are going to come to us and our advice to them is resolve this as soon as you can so your head is back with us and focusing on the national team,”

“If I was a manager I’d ask to sign him as well.

Fred saw 8 minutes of action as a late substitute for Brazil in their 2-0 friendly win over Croatia at the weekend.

Fred has played 150 games for Shaktar since joining the club in 2013 and his transfer fee could be anything up to 50m GBP. At 25 he looks as if he’s coming into his prime and will provide a much-needed boost to the midfield.
