Manchester United will make a decision on the signing of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof this week according to a report in the British media.
The Daily Star reports that United could still make a marquee January signing:
MANCHESTER UNITED will make a decision this week as to whether to bring forward the £38million signing of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.
Lindelof has been the subject of intense speculation about a move to Manchester United this month and it’s easy to see why. At just 22 years of age the Sweden international already looks like a seasoned star.
He’s a powerful defender with imperious control of the back line. He’s quick, decisive and brave in the tackle and a big presence from set pieces at both ends of the park.
But where he comes into his own is with his passing and offensive play. He’s got a great first touch, plays some wonderful through balls and loves to stride out of the defence with the ball at his feet to pull opponents out of shape.
All in all he could prove to be the perfect partner for new boy Eric Bailly, when the youngster returns from the African Cup of Nations.
Some onlookers believe that the reason Manchester Untied haven’t yet done a deal for the player this month is due to the form of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo at the back. Both are in the form of their lives and have formed a superb partnership in the absence of Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly.
